The autumn air had not yet gotten crisp and cool. The Southern California heat still lingered from summer. The Buckel’s family arrived to the historic Mission San Juan Capistrano, dressed to perfection for little Zoey’s one year session. The Mission, so stunning with all it’s foliage and historic architecture was the perfect location for a one year session.
The water, twinkling like stars in the night sky. The lily pads, floating like clouds on top of the water. The colorful koi fish, dancing beneath the water’s edge. Little Zoey’s eyes lit up, as she saw the fish swim past. She reached out squealing with delight, trying to touch the orange and white creature that awed her. The magic in her eyes took me back to when my little ones turned one. Everything in their eyes, so new. So magical. So intriguing. As little “Z” sat there watching the fish dance around, her mommy and daddy, Veronica and Austin, sat beside her, taking in the magic with her. I stood back giving them a minute to enjoy the precious fleeting moment. The sun, reflecting off little Z’s sparkly gold dress. It’s moments like these that I love capturing. Taking a moment in time and freezing it. Preserving it. So that one day, Zoey, her mommy and daddy, and other family members can go back into time, and relive this special memory, all over again.
Veronica and Austin, thank you for the honor of allowing me to capture little Zoey at her first year of life. She is such a little beauty, so calm and sweet. Watching how you both are with her is truly so special and I am so thankful to have you as friends! This was a special session for me because I love being able to photograph friends! I look forward to play dates with our little ones and can’t wait to celebrate Z’s first birthday. Wishing you the happiest FIRST birthday, princess Zoey! I hope all your dreams come true!
