Five brides. Five beautiful brides that happen to be best of friends. These ladies contacted me wanting to do a session in their wedding gowns! These fun loving girls wanted to be able to wear their wedding gowns together to document their friendship and the fact that they all got married within the same small time frame. They’ve all supported one another through life and through love. Two of them are even expecting their first little babies this year!
“The best kinds of friendships are fierce lady friendships where you aggressively believe in each other, defend each other, and think the other deserves the world.” This is so true with this group of ladies. The are so caring and thoughtful and always looking out for one another. At the beginning of our session at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, California, they all had to change into their wedding gowns. We used their garment bags and held them all up side by side to make a make-shift dressing room! It worked out perfectly! I had so much fun documenting these ladies, giggling, laughing and reminiscing about all the great times they’ve had together. We made our way through the crowds and had such a wonderful time at the beautiful observatory.
The Griffith Observatory is definitely a must-see if you’re ever in Southern California. It’s one of my absolute favorite places to shoot! Beware, it’s best to go at sunrise or on a weekday because it is a high traffic tourist attraction. We got stopped a few times from people wanting to take photos with these five gorgeous ladies in their stunning bridal gowns! People thought they were models, shooting for a magazine! It was so much fun, feeling like a celebrity photographer for a few minutes.
As the sun set, we finished up our session with the most beautiful cotton candy colored sky! Pam, Linda, Sorina, Katrina and Nancy, thank you SO much for allowing me to capture the friendship you all share and to have you all in your wedding gowns was icing on the cake! I had so much fun! It makes my heart happy knowing that you’ll have these photos to look back on and even share with your little ones!
